Reminds me of the first time I used a "new" camera (a Praktica MTL-3, IIRC), I loaded film, snap snap snapped away, took it to the dev shop, and 2 days later the guy sadly held up a spool of completely transparent tape. I'd not loaded it properly, it never advanced and they developed a completely blank film. Oooooops.

can't laugh done that myself years ago, seem to remember the pictures were mostly red. Not a look I was going for.

My wife did something similar when the film didn't rewind (wasn't an auto rewind camera) and open the back to see what the problem was and took the film out erm all about 36 inches.
