Send a pm to rgrebby. He knows a bit more about Pluckley

Just pick a hotel you really like the look of - whichever you chose, many people will have died there. Make up some b*llocks story, let your imagination run wild and Bob's your uncle.

Haha the Mrs would be easy to convince but i actually want to create some washing for her.

Don't think Chingle Hall is open to the public anymore Dave and when it was, it wasn't a hotel experience.

Can recommend the Jamaica Inn near Bodmin.

Unwittingly stayed at a pub just south of Oban once...... had just booked in off speck having almost come unstuck in a horrendous snow blizzard and whilst waiting for our tea we were overhearing a couple of locals telling the new owners of its spooky history and paranormal activity..... quite interesting until we reminded ourselves we were the only people staying over that night! Didn't sleep at all that night. Even more spooky was the fact the owners had just put a photograph of an Australian pub up in the pool room.... one I visited when in Australia... now that did freak me out! Unfortunately I can't remember the name of this place but it seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by fir trees.

That actually sounds like the ideal horror movie setting. Are you sure it wasn't called the Overlook Hotel?

Being near Oban I can't think it'd be too far to find, up that way its pretty barren anyway.

Try the Mermaid Inn at Rye, you can stay there for as many nights as you like and thats supposed to be active.

falcon inn, stratford on avon

A big group of us stayed in Pembroke Castle one night. That is one awesome place to stay. Lots of spooky goings on happened.

George (IV?) Hotel in Glastonbury I believe was said to be haunted when we were there, this was many, many years ago and I may well be wrong. It was nice there though!

Gisborough Hall, North Yorkshire. Ask for the Old Nursery Room.
Old lady apparently comes and kneels at the foot of the bed.. Can't remember the entire story but pretty spooky and I didn't even stay in that room.
2 other 'ghosts' there aswell apparently.
Apart from that it's also a very nice place, lovely food and great service etc.

You could go to Edinburgh for night out and tour the vaults while your there,I never felt anything but the tour was intesting and informative

When we were looking at Wedding Reception venues, we considered the Mermaid Inn in Rye http://mermaidinn.com/.

Please note their prices are per person, not per room, which is why we didn't choose them in the end. However, we did get an interesting tour from around the hotel and I believe it is meant to be haunted, it's really old (1420 it was rebuilt 1156 originally built) so plenty of stuff likely to have happended over those years!

It's a lovely old hotel and town as well - we didn't see any ghosts on our tour mind...
