I use the Hasselblad x5 to scan all my negs & while it's really good quality, high res & all that, anything from 35mm film is really grainy. I tend to shoot AGFA APX 100, which is a lot finer grain when printed in the darkroom, as is any other film.

Anyone have any ideas why this is? Could it be the settings, or is just something I'll have to put up with?

Cheers,

The scanner software may be adding USM, global sharpening often makes grain much more apparent.

I dare say at 6000dpi every film will look grainy, no?
