So, this arrived today. I found one on the line for a decent price that I was prepared to pay and as I had been eyeing one up for a while, found it hard to pass up. Well, it came today and everything is fine. In fact, it had a film in with just one exposure used. Now I have no clue of how long it's been in so I know the results could be questionable. The first frame had been half exposed. Like someone had removed the dark slide half way and put it back once they realised their was a film in. The next frame came out exposed perfectly using the light meter on my iPhone. That was a surprise! The thing is, it seems to be made up of loads of horizontal lines. Like an old tv if you sit close to it, you can see the lines of pixels. This has a similar appearance. Is that normal for this kind of film. Oh, it's the Fuji 100C stuff by the way. To be fair, I left the frame with my dad as it was of him so not sure if it's any different once it fully dries?

Thanks in advance :)

That sounds like a characteristic of expired film, although I'd have to see the image to be sure. Make sure it dries completely, it can take a lot longer than you might expect! In general though Fuji 100C is a very good film and you wouldn't expect to see a 'lines of pixels' effect.

Search for examples of Fuji 100C images on flickr/google images to see what fresh 100C looks like and you'll hopefully get an idea.

Thanks for that. Yeah I was looking on Flickr and they all look really good. I'll check it again tomorrow when I nip to see the folks to see how it looks. With the film being already in, I wasn't expecting perfect results. I have a new, in date box here.

It might be Fuji Fp100c silk which has a textured matt finish compared to the glossy version.

Hmmm, just come to the parents and checked it and I think your right. It's a matte finish with a texture but has dried well. Looks pretty good actually. Might shoot the rest of the pack tomorrow!
