Has anyone built and tried out one of these?

I wandered into Waterstone's today and picked up what I thought was a book. It turned out to be a box containing a build your own camera kit - a 35mm TLR no less! I'm sure it must be high quality because it does say "Not A Toy!" on the back. Own up! Who's got one?

Yes, my daughter bought me one many years ago. It works
I think it is more useful to show a kid the basics of a camera than taking photos.

Also got a pinhole one

My step daughter bought me this for Christmas a few years ago. Lives on the mantlepiece next to my broken Yashica FR1 Not actually used it though!

I checked out a couple of YT videos and the answer seems to be "Don't Bother". The camera seems to have a lot of light leaks.

No, it was a long time ago, probably used the film as a test film for camera mechanics

I have one - fun to build. Never tried to take a photo with it though
Mine was from my daughter as well - looks like a trend here

I've had one for ages but never got round to building it. If I ever do, I'll use glue to make sure it's more light tight than as designed.
