Has anybody purchased one of

these? Having upgraded my Pc recently I have not bothered putting my old Creative Xfi extreme back in and was contemplating one of these. If anyone does have one what are your thoughts on it?

I already have this one Andy for the stereo. The problem is I only have the one pair of B&W 602-S3`s that are used as the front speakers, these are switched between the surround amp and the stereo as and when needed. If the other half is listening to the Tv then I am forced to use the cans for listening to whatever at the time through the PC, so thought the card would be a better option than onboard and would even be an improvement over my old card :shrug:

You'll probably notice the difference more through cans TBH. I don't know the ASUS card but the performance could be dependant on the machine PSU performance (it isn't clear from the page how they've powered the DAC section). Just get another Caiman - you know it, it has headphone out and you can interface to it via USB or the optical out of the xfi.
