Has anybody moved to a 60D from a 40/50D and regretted it?

I seem to be making a hash of trying to buy a 40/50d so whilst I look I'm just wondering if anyone has bought a 60D thinking of it as an upgrade from a 40d/50d and regretted it from a photogrpah point of view (I know video is the big thing the 60d does but want to discount this as a reason for the change).

If so, what do you miss?

Not sure if this is of help, my brother has a 40D and I have a 60D, he has been looking to upgrade to either a 60D or a 7D. Obviously I took my 60D round for him to have a play with and he was impressed with the higher resolution of the 18MP sensor, but that was it I'm afraid!

He is now thinking of buying the 7D or wait for the 7D mkII if it comes out soon! The main reason not to go for the 60D is that it does not handle like a pro camera. Canon themselves now class it as an enthusiast camera not a pro camera.

I am very happy with the 60D, but I upgraded from an entry level 450D. While we were comparing the two cameras, my brother dropped his 40D on the kitchen floor; amazingly it bounced and had no damage! I don’t think you would get away with dropping a 60D!

Thats a brilliant reply and has re-affirmed my initial decision, thank you :)

The trouble with mooching is its easy to get distracted and I started considering the 6od but your comment about pro-camera has sealed it for me, 40/50d it is :)

Noise is improved compared to the 50D but not as good as the 40D.

Body also completely different in feel and weight which can make a difference too.

In terms of image quality only the 5D2 would be an upgrade in my opinion
