One of the 3 partitioned drives on my second hard drive is not accessible, the other two drives are fine but the third according to windows is corrupted in some way. Chkdsk can't read it, I've tried a few different tools to gain access and fix it but with no success. Most Dos tools are no good as it's sata, can anyone recommend a program that's likely to help here?

I have just had the same problem.

I have a 10,000rpm Raptor as my boot drive and when I installed it I made a large partition for bits and bobs to go on.

Only last week for some stupid reason the partitioned side of the drive decided it was in-accessable, couldnt be read.

I tried Partition Magic and other utilities but none would access the drive under vista.:(

Went into Disk management and couldnt even delete the partition from there.:|

I did'nt want to re-format the boot drive again so I took the complete hard drive out and accessed it through my daughters computer as a slave which has XP installed.

My boot drive remained in-tact but unfortunaly lost everything on the partitioned side although I got the partition deleted and active again via XP.

Fortunate for me I had everything backed up elsewhere so the rest was easy.

I still say its a vista problem but never got to the bottom of it.

Everything up and running fine again now.:)

If you know what make the HD is, go to their website they normally have recovery software that you can download to a Floppy / CD and then boot from to try and recover/repair the HD.
