hard drive help.

I was on my pc and then i got a blue screen. When i loaded the pc up now it says disk read error and won't load anything up.

Can any one help me please?

What OS are you using?

Have you check the connections on the HD and is the ram sat properly?

Its xp and all connections are fine. Its back on now but for how long Im not sure. Is there a way i can check for problems?

Check the fan on your CPU cooler is working OK. I've seen overheating cause errors like that.

If that is not it, look to see what make hard drive it is and check the makers site for testing software to check how 'healthy' the drive is.

what kind of disk read error, would probably point to a disk iuuse/failing.

best run chkdsk and manufacturer utils to check
