I've always liked him, not worth £18m a year but thats what they wanted to pay him
he'll soon show up again on ITV Channel 4 or somewhere

rossyHe did bring cups of ( ? ) to to all the photographers outside his home.![]()
I believe the 18 million wasn't his wage but the money paid to produce his TV and radio show, including his fee/wage and everybody else involved.
I personally don't see how many people could be so happy to see him go. He did very few shows so like with everything else, if you don't like it - don't watch it?
TBH I'm not suprised he is leaving after how the BBC treated him (Something to do with lots of complaints form people who didn't even listen to the radio show...)

I'm not quite sure why everyone's moaning about him. If you don't like him, do something outrageous, like turn off the blinkin telly! You don't have to watch him.
Of course his wages are obscene, but that's the BBC's fault.
or improve the budget of Top Gear once again.

That's part of the reason I'm happy he's going, apart from anything else it's totally obscene that someone like Ross should get £6 million a year of tax payer's moneywhen there are nurses and soldiers having to survive on what he would consider loose change....
Because I'd much rather the money that goes to him (That the public pay), actually goes to create better programs, or improve the budget of Top Gear once again.

Um, he wasn't getting tax payers money he was getting BBC money which is only partially funded by the tax payer - IMO the source of the money as an arguement holds no water.
It should be about the value an individual adds to the BBC vs the amount it costs them. On a UK broadcast level I don't think he added enough value and I expect the BBC have come to realise that too. Worldwide? I don't know - maybe he did (and that is where the beeb want to make money anyway!)
He hasn't been given £6 million a year. As has been pointed out, the figures quoted are for the shows and therefore include all the production costs
Daily Mail said:Ross also.....earn(s) millions more through his company, Open Mike, which receives a production fee for making his Friday night chat show for the BBC
