For the first time ever the good lady and I are going to stay in and avoid the party scene.....and we are going to be alcohol free...... it must be my old age catching me up....
 
Not really done the pubs & clubs on new years eve for over 20 years but I do like to stay up until the countdown. Saying that its getting increasingly difficult with advancing years :(

Looks like a quiet evening for me too. My son and his family have gone to a game reserve, my daughter's got plans, and my wife is in another country a long way away. It's fine, I'm not into parties - not any more - and I probably wouldn't go to one anyway.

I could probably find something to do, but it would mean driving and I don't want to be on the roads later tonight. The police will be out in force manning roadblocks all over the place. I don't drink, so I'm not worried about the breathalyser, but it's a nuisance and I don't want to get into an argument with an aggressive cop and risk being arrested for some fabricated offence if I refuse to pay him R500 to "sort it out".

I'm giving thought to heading out with a camera, the celebrations here are normally quite good, with all sorts of costumes abound.
 
Dinner and dance with frank sinatra tribute act (Tony Adams) Im out with the wife and friends.
