Now am, again, proud owner once more of a Canon 40D with the 17-85mm lens. ( As posted sometime ago, the other got 'lost' in a moment of madness, along with 2 lenses after a row with my boyfriend)

My wonderful boyfriend surprised me totally today when he came in through the door and handed me a large carrier bag... I waited til he was gone and looked, and lo and behold, there was a brand new 40D with the lens inside, and a few memory cards and bag. So pleased and happy. Thanks all who helped out with this...just delighted and stunned he paid so much for the thing.

I am indeed, I thought I would have to wait til xmas at least to be able to get back all the gear I lost. Now all I need is a 4 gb memory card and to replace the crumpler bag I had. I am still a little shocked he did that for me, given his financial situation, but that he couldnt bear to see my sadness at losing 'my favourite toy' as he calls it.

Can't wait to try the 17-85... I never got on that well with the 28-135 I had before.
