Well I have seen it all now.

I received a general purpose card today from a friend, it has come to something when everything is just a tick in a box

That's even worse than the round robin type letters some people stick inside their cards to tell everyone that little Jimmy's better after his bout of diarrhoea. I've seen a similar generic thank you card but as an event/occasion card, that one's a first.

That's excellent! Where do I get some from?!

:D I'd like everyone on this forum who reads this thread to treat this as my personal and heartfelt seasonal wishes to you!

if it is done as a tongue in cheek thing, then it is brilliant but I would have added some comedy options too, so it was obvious that it was not taking itself seriously

"sorry to hear about the accident with the car/hoover/elephant/tabasco sauce"

"thank you for the lovely gift/surprise/call/rash"

that sort of thing

if on the other hand it is a genuine one-size-fits-all 'card' then that just about takes the biscuit, and I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of people receiving that take the hump majorly (and rightly so IMHO)

In the numberplate of Paul Raymond/Fiona Richmond; FU2!

It was a sticky business, but I'm so glad to hear about Jimmy.

Almost touch and go...

I am sure that goes back to Molesworth (if anyone remembers it). The self adjusting greetings card?

That is the perfect solution to Christmas, Birthday, Easter and all those special days of the year . . . I love it.

Going to put together my own version of that, print them off (in draft mode, of course) and make that as my standard method when it comes to special events.
