I have the vr1. Great lens. Don't use it enough unfortunately, tends to be my outdoor lens but great IQ.

Getting my self a Lowepro Flipside 300 today which will fit it in nicely to protect it from been damaged :-)

all i need now is the D700 and the 24-70 f2.8 and ill be very very very happy :-)

It really is a big 1.5kg lump of metal with some nice glass with it too :-)
