Happy Aperture 3 users?

HAving read a lot of previous threads on the troubles with Aperture 3 i think i must be doing something very wrong. It's fast, Trouble free and a joy to use, What am i doing wrong

Using the trial myself with no problems.............that said I don't appear to be able to do any adjustment to video? Otherwise quite happy.

I'm done with it. Sick of it's tediously slow performance.

Adobe Bridge + Photoshop & OnOne Suite>All.

And I've tried Lightroom, DxO, CaptureOne.

I've never use Aperture before, but just started with Aperture 3 last week.
Overall love it. Nice and simple workflow and lots of non destructive adjustments. And really fast (Top spec Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and SSD which helps an awful lot)
Some odd things, 1. sometimes projects don't appear in the 'import to' box 2. unless I'm not doing it right the brushes (for things like dodging) don't seem big enough at max size.
Anyone else had these issues?

So far working fine for me, it's faster than 2 as well. It seems to hang if you minimise it..... watch out for that one... hopefully Apple will fix that shortly.

pro-kit update today.. hopefully that'll fix a few more performance issues

what is very odd, it that running aperture and facebook at the same time causes script errors on facebook! weird

Got it on 2 machines now and loving it. Before the update it had memory leaks all over the place but all seems to be sorted now. Some great improvements on v2.

Only problem I have is the importing of images is different than v2 when selecting only some images. Just bugging being different - takes some getting used to

I'm probably going to buy it based on my experience with the trial... may just give LR2/3 a go first though.

Perhaps more importantly, I'm going to need a bigger hard drive.

I think I am too 'in' with Lightroom. Downloaded the trial of Aperture 3 last week and imported some Raw's into it but just couldn't work my way around it.

Going to persevere with it for a few weeks, alongside the LR3 Beta, and see which one comes out on top.

It's like the whole Mac/Windows debate - both do the same job in different ways.

since the 3.01 update its like night and day

still needs a 3.02 sooner than later though

Is it really that much better? I despaired at the 3.0 trial and removed it. I might try it again though if it's much improved.

Is anyone using it on a 2.16Ghz Macbook with Snow Leopard? Is V3 much faster than V2 on it?
I didn't see much of an improvement and can't work out if it's just my laptop that's underpowered.

On my C2D 2ghz MacBook everything is slow since I got my 5D Mark II. Aperture 2, 3 and Lightroom. I have 4Gb of RAM but the images are just too large to be snappy. However, my iMac is a lot faster. I just took the plunge and upgraded my libraries to Aperture 3 (I actually exported projects from v2 and imported into v3, apparently this is the smoothest way to do it).

I love the fast library switching. This allows you to keep libraries from getting massive. I used to use multiple libraries previously but it was a pain having to close down the application and re-open with the new library.

yeah 3.01 is a huge improvement over 3 and also a nice improvement over 2.
2 was still quite buggy even on its most recent update.. 3.01 still needs improvement, but hopefully the Pro-Kit update has improved things

Yep happy with A3. Not had any crashes since the updates although I haven't used it quite so much since. Wish they'd fix the watermarking though.
