OK, not really a cure but it will help reduce the dehydration part of the festive punishment! Firstly, drink plenty of non alcoholic liquid before bedding down - you may need to get up for a pee in the middle of the night but it's worth it. Keep a bottle of flat Lucozade beside the bed for guzzling and when you wake up in the morning.

Of course, to avoid hangovers completely, simply don't overdo the boozing!!!

I have not found a good one yet, I have two Aspirin and a glass of water, it eases it only.

1 Zantac and 2 pints water before sleeping, another pint of water during the night when you wake up for the inevitable pitstop.

Hair of the dog is another alternative but only puts off the inevitable

Not a cure but helps a hangover from developing, paracetamol and a pint of water before starting then one glass of water for every beer. Lots of comfort breaks though

I believe an imperial pint of champagne served in a silver/pewter tankard, with a chicken sandwich, was a popular pick me up amongst Edwardian gentlemen :) It does sound appealing and I wish I'd tried it but, alas, I gave up drinking long ago...

If I am having a few drinks I will have water between drinks, and that seems to work for me..

Its reported that alcohol shrinks / dehydrates the brain, hence the head aches.
drinking equal parts / volume of water before bedtime balances the effect.
As for me, I wouldn't know, I never get a hang over no matter what or how much I drink. :D

I always thought it was because the blood thickens, hard to circulate thus resulting in head ache..I am taking it easy this year, so should be OK :)

Ditto.

But my brother swears by a pint of water glugged before drinking alcohol, and another (at least) before going to bed after. :-)

If alcohol were to thicken the blood, I'm pretty sure there'd be a high rate of associated thrombosis.

I was just given a lovely bottle of Malibu from a friend, I can't upset her and give it her back. Looks like I am stuck with it

I used to like Malibu. Mind you I liked every soddin' thing. Whisky? Fight yeh bass!!!!

Ahh, another drink for me to try
But don't forget the salt to lick and the lime to suck then

One tequila two tequila three tequila ..... floor!
;)

Someone has started early
It was just a warning ;)
I've not had a Tq race in years, it used to be my and my brothers party piece :D

Drink a raw egg in a glass of milk before going out drinking.
A dirty big kebab on the way home.
A couple of painkillers & a pint of water before bed..........and again when you wake up int'mornin.

So it is pretty potent then?
Only if you fall over :D

Tequila is most often made at a 38–40% alcohol content , but can be produced between 31 and 55% alcohol content

So about the same as Pernod

Definitely hair of the dog.... Normally mixed with something fizzy to settle the stomach. Then once it's take effect (usually 20 mins) eat and drink (non alcohol) as much as possible!

As my grandmother used to say 'what makes you bad makes you better'!

Yummmmm . . . I really like the excuse to follow up with a chicken sandwich and pint of Champagne in the morning :D
(Not so keen on the painkiller and raw egg suggestions though)

I don't think I've ever had a hangover TBH
No fancy cures. I just make sure that I eat something as well as drinking, and wash the alcohol down with a couple of glasses of water before going to bed <shrug>
