With the flu, or whatever it is 'going round' :lol:

I got hit with a sore throat on Sunday, and today I have full blown 'flu' :shake: I've also got a rapidly developing chest infection, so looks like I might have to get the doctor out in the next few days.

I wouldn't mind so much, but I haven't left the house in almost 2 weeks. So I know my kind hubby brought this little present home for me.

Current medications are:
1pkt Blackcurrant Soothers per day
12 Sudafed Dual Relief capsules per day
1 bottle of Buttercup, sipping straight from the bottle throughout the day

:lol: Oh and a big box of mansize balm tissues per day!

Oh the joys of winter!

apart from me, im sick, been off today but going back tomorrow because MRS is doing my head in and wanting me to fit a carpet, ive told her im sick but all i get is its MAN FLU. so sod it im going to work and i can recoupe there.
 
i was ill last week.. had to come home from work i was that bad and i've never been off sick for years :(
 
me too had sore throat sunday and have got worse as the week progresses.

beecham powders is my friend.

:lol: Well the hubby has had the sniffles and the odd sneezing and coughing fit for a little while. I was getting sick of him whinging and popping Fishermans Friends every 10 minutes. But he really did have Man-flu, not the real thing ... or so I thought :shake: Seems like he must have had the calm before the storm version of the 'flu'.

He is in my bad books, because the whole while I kept telling him off for sneezing and coughing without covering his mouth/nose "If I get this, you are in deep carp...". It seems my words were in vein. Blooming men!

I've been fighting a cold for a couple of weeks now, defending myself with tea and bananas, not got right down yet...!
 
I`ve been full of the cold for a couple of days now... :(

Sorry Jo, but all you have is Girl-Flu! If you're able to sit at a PC and do this stuff, then you can't have real flu - just a bad cold (apart from the chest infection). Influenza incapacitates totally. If you had it you'd be in bed unable to move, and the internet would be far from your mind. It's difficult to accept, but most people always think a bad cold is flu. Anyway, hope you get well one day.

Believe me it's flu ;) Without going into too much detail I'm actually in the same place I always am (mostly 24/7) in my chair with my laptop on my knee. But thanks :lol:

I have had 2 migranes in the pst two days in the exact same area of my head at the exact sme time on both days with the same before and after results :(

Trip to the doctors me thinks.
 
I reckon I've caught my cold off you lot, came in this morning and been sneezing. Hopefully it's just an allergic reaction to work

Get well soon though all of you who are ill. I'm off to the chemists on way home to get some vitamin c and echinacea
 
count your lucky stars.... at least you don't have breast cancer (hopefully)... this time last year my wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was 7 months pregnant at the time... we had to give birth to our daughter prematurely so Donna could start her chemotherapy as soon as possible.

today, shes cancer free and receiving herceptin treatments... and back to work after 10 months off sick... she bares the physical scars of surgery, we both bare the financial scars of cancer.

Sorry if this seems an abrasive post...

I am soory that you and your wife had to go through that! At least all is well now and you can have one hell of a christmas.
 
ive had the sore throat/ flu / cough for a week and have realised im alregic to day/night nurse liquid (lips went huge lol never been alergic to anything before)

my OH now has it but of course it MANflu now
 
Both DF & me came down with it on Sunday night, we put it down to walking back from snapping an event in freezing conditions without coats ...aaand whose idea was that then! :p

Alas nooo, we have the dreaded lergy! :help:
Today is the first day Ive been out of bed for longer than 15 minutes, and first time Ive eaten in 3 days
- woohooo! weight loss - well there has to be some upside! :D
