Hama Traveler tripod £18!

Its a bargain at this price.
We'll just have to see if the order goes through

Only delivered to mainland UK, so that rules out us Northern Ireland folk :(

Are they any good?

the are surprisingly decent, I got one with a Practical Photography subscription, obviousl not for heavy kit but I wpuld and have trusted a small dslr with small kit size lens, when you extend the legs it feels flimsy but as soon as you lock them up its nice and solid for what it is.. if you got small kit and need something small for travelling or for a quick flash stand its a good option, its nice that it comes with a bag aswell.

hope this helps.

Dave

I really really hope that you will get them. It might be another pricing error :/

I don't think they're the same as the OP's one has a quick release plate on the ball-head.

Max load is stated as 10kg - which, unless it's a printing error, is great value load carrying capacity.

Cheap tripods... be warned people... you follow the path to disappointment.

I bought might just for when i need a small one when caving etc.

For the price, it's worth a punt as a spare or one for messy enviroments,

The only poor part looks the head, but ill be attaching my 3 way head to it anyway.

Seen that too

I think they have mixed up the prices of the two types of traveller, the mini should be the 18.99 one.

I have the mini traveller and its decent enough for a small lightweight tripod.

Went ahead and ordered it anyway. Waiting for the cancellation email telling me I'm a silly billy for ordering to Northern Ireland

Thanks for this.
Ordered one yesterday as a birthday present for my son - arrived this morning.
Very happy

I actually bought one of these before it was posted here, didn't notice this thread - the attachment between the ball part of the ball head and the plate part is a tad bit loose, which is annoying, but the legs are good - too flimsy fully extended, but really good slightly collapsed. Definitely won't take 2kg though.

Can you please put your heaviest setup on it and let me know how it handles weight >2kg?

Can you also let me know the exact model you have received?

Thanks!

Il risk over £1000 of gear just to test it for you, while I'm there Il drop my gear so you can see the results should the tripod not hold! Lol

You know exactly what I mean :) I was just curious how strong the ball head is. If I will buy it, I'll test it for you!

Anyone managed to test it out yet? Close up pics/review would be fantastic.

I've got this tripod, and it's the one I use most of the time (OK, with the Pentax D100 and only a small 80-200 lens, I don;t have a heavy kit) but I'm very happy with it. My son also uses the same set up with his Panasonic, and my Dad has one which he uses a lot. I know he has much bigger heavier lenses than me so I'll ask him what he uses it with, and if he uses bigger tripods with the larger lenses.

However, I would say. If you can get it at that price, it really is a bargain, I'm sure it's a mistake that will probably be picked up soon and corrected.
