Halifax Town Anyone ?

Bags of room around the pitch, lights are shocking, no problems with mobile BB signal, free parking on Skircoat Road car park if you flash your pass, no idea regarding media facilities as they now have a new stand with everything in there.

Hi

Parking - the lads on carpark entrance off shaw hill are pretty good at just letting you in if you just tell them you are press , if its full there is an NCP behind the North stand which is pretty cheap and 2 min walk

Entrance is half way along the carpark of the East stand (mentioned above) you can't miss it, usually get a team sheet from there about 20 mins before kick off.
(need to be on the list to get in though)

I think there is a press room on top floor of main stand but never bothered to go up there myself (think its behind the disabled viewing gantry)

Previous games i've been to before both sets of fans have been seated in the east stand, segregated about 2/3 along, and home fans only standing in South stand
(might have changed now they are in conference premier with bigger crowds)

If its lashing it down the empty west stand roof covers over the side lines so prevents getting soaked :-)

Lighting is better nearer south stand goal as they have lights across front of that stand, other end is poor

cheers

spooky.. just had a call from halifax courier yesterday asking for pictures..

Thank you

First gig on my own license. Quite looking forward to shooting under pressure to produce. Did you use three there Gary ?

No they wanted something out of my stock.. halifax have taken an accringotn player (carver) on loan.. If your doing the game then hes probably the one to get for interest.

Yeah I agree, I read the blurb on the Halifax site and thought it would be of interest.

I'd also have thought that Edgar Davids will be on the wanted shot list

Milan, Juventus, Inter, Tottenham.............Barnet

haha I hadnt even looked who halifax was playing :)

3 is good there mate, never had any issues, Landy has shot both RL and footy there so his info is likely more reliable for footy, mines just based on shooting RL there.

So.. how did ya get on Tug? pics can be shown in here :)

The staff at Halifax were spot on and getting in and parking was all straight forward. Local press were present and the away team media outlets were not interested. The club photographer was there too. he is a keen fan and is very keen to learn better techniques. The press guy arrived mid way through the second half.

What I was so shocked about was the fact that Barnets manager didn't attend the game. I Later discovered that he doesn't travel over 20 miles from the home ground...whether this is true, I dont know, but I was looking forward to getting a few stock shots of the man.

I was sat at the wrong end in the first half, I gambled on the home team shooting towards their own fans in the second half and so they'd be shooting towards me in the first....Wrong !!! So I missed quite a bit as Halifax were on top all the first half. Then in the second they were shooting towards me. I got a couple of celebration shots but missed the Second Town goal.

The 1DX bodies performed fantastically, handling the shadow filled backgrounds along with the overly bright sun filled areas. I started off using the 400mm 2.8 but added the 1.4 in the first half as the action was at the other end... I took the TC off in the second half and shot with the 400 on one body and the 70-200 on the other. I have 2 1.4 TC's now, so I may add the other TC to the 70-200 in future if the light is ok.

Never mind.

What I did notice was the speed at which the time passed. especially at half time when I was selecting and editing for emailing.

I used LR5 and an Auto import program recommended by Andy (Tobers) It works a treat at importing locked image only. Then LR5 auto imported from a selected hot folder. It meant I could use a very familiar programe for editing. I have also added the plugin for code replacement too. Im still working on that one though, but it looks very good.

My only issue was that I had to change the SMTP settings to send email on my three dongle. I had forgotten what the settings were, so that was a stumbling block for me. Apart from that, Roll on Friday Night and Saturday afternoon again.:) :)

Ill post a few more later as they are on the laptop and Im on the PC at the moment.

I have been having a bit of problem with the Auto import in LR6. I sometimes have to remove the drives, pop cards back in, refresh, add the drives back in, then take cards out back in.

Not sure if it's me doing something wrong.

This works really well Robin.

Look for the Auto Copy proggy.

It can be set to only download locked images from your CF Card. You can also set it to auto download everything from the card too.

I then get LR5 to auto import from the same folder. hey presto, only the locked images are automatically to LR5. Presets can be applied on import as normal.

I have been using for a while. I think I should put cards in the reader when I start it up to confirm the drives.
