Hello fellow shutterbugs
I am Rachel from South Dorset. I decided to pop in here and see if I like it. I have been a chatty shutterbug in the Nikon Cafe forums for 13years, but I must admit it's time to focus my mad ravings close to home. So here I be.
Well, I have Aspergers and a fair few physical disabilities that have kinda ruled my life for too long now and I am jumping back into the craft in order to get out of the house, and get some exercise as well as practice my photography skills. I mainly shoot wildlife (oh and the three hell-panthers at home), but I am up for anything that takes my eye.
I am Nikon shooter; but certainly no fan-girl. I have had lots of different systems in the 35+ years that I have dipped in and out of the craft. I started out with a Praktica MTL 5B with a 50mm f/1.8. I have had Canon EOS film and digital, Nikon film and digital, Minolta, Pentax, and of course many phone cameras.
I do like the controls on the Nikon system more than any other. (mind you my Praktica BX20 was very nice back in the day).
Today I have a Nikon Z5, with the Z 24-50mm lens. I have the Tamron 150-600mm Di USD G2 on it's merry way with DPD. I do miss my Nikon 300m f4 AF-S. That was an awesome lens. However, perhaps my lotto will finally allow me to surround myself with the big telephotos that are probably all way to much for me to handle lol.
Anyways, I am also a total techie nerd and I love computers, games, SciFi Movies, TV and Books. I adore the wilds, and would love to see what lives in the deep oceans.
I do like to offer my advice on many topics; it's an Aspergers thing that I cannot help myself from offering my assistance, often when it's not wanted lol.
So thats a brief introduction into the world of Rachel, nicknamed Bunny as I have a lot of Bunny's around the house (the soft kind, not real ones).
I am gonna shut up now, and go nose around these forums .
K thx bai
