has anyone any experience using one of these ,thinking about one for a forthcoming holiday to cut down on weight i.e several different battery chargers needed normally this cuts it down to one ,if it actually does what it says on the tin

Yes. It's great, one of the best £25 I spent in a long time. Does everything for me, wife's Canon compact, my Leica M8 and Sony batteries and all USB devices via the USB port. Works on 12V in the car and mains elsewhere.

Great peice of kit, will charge almost any battery, I have used mine for camera batteries, AA cells, even a phone battery when I forgot my charger.
