Over the last two or three days I've been filming with the BBC for an article on social engineering which will go out on the main news bulletins as well as News24. As part of my day job I've been doing some of that recently and our corporate PR/marketing agency put out a press release which the BBC picked for exclusive rights, they were going to do a Panorama programme about it but decided on the news instead. I'm doing some more filming next week when I have to try and gain access to a company and remove confidential information, for this segment I have to wear a hidden camera which apparently is going to be a button on my shirt. The interview I did a couple of days ago was in silhouette and the rest of the filming won't show my face at all which my two boys are not happy about. :D

The reporter was getting a bit peed off because me and the cameraman were discussing photography and I was more interested in the video camera he was using than in conducting the interview!

it does sound out of the ordinary
but did you get any pictures?!?

So when can we expect to see this strange silhouette of our very own hacker on the news? :rules: Come one, details Colin please :D

Probably sometime week commencing 30th April unless of course some non-celebrity croaks or war breaks out. :D

That was cold :D

Doh! That should have read week commencing 30th March.

Can I ask a question: If you're openly telling everyone about it, why the need to silhouette you out?

A perfectly reasonable question it is too. There are a couple of reasons both of which were beyond my control, the first being that my company has said that I might be recognised and it could compromise further similar projects, personally I think that is a load of tosh but as I accept the corporate shilling......:D

Secondly, the BBC decided to film it like that as they thought it would create an air of mystery (their exact words) and apparently make for more interesting viewing. Even though they haven't filmed my face they are still using my name on screen and my company has put my name all over the press release. Media, marketing and PR types. Go figure.
