Had a senior moment this morning

We had a light dusting of snow this morning & the sun was shining though there was a very strong wind. I decided to have a walk through the wood to see if I could get a shot at a Roe Der.
As I walked into the wood & saw how much the trees were being blown about I thought it was a dangerous place to be. Did a risk assesment & decided " ach it will be aricht"
Five minutes into the wood & there were 4 Roe bucks in velvet just 100 yards or so from me. Into stalking mode! When I got closer I found the deer had jumped into a field but were still close. I moved closer & using a tree for cover took time,set up tripod, focused & then waited. Fairly soon one of the Bucks turned his head to me & with the sun catching his eye I decided this is the shot. Very gently sqeeze the button & NOTHING. Forgot to put in a memory card!!!!

Did this a few times...:lol: Last time was still in film days...

Had a rather ugly MVC with multiple fatalities. The other (guilty) vehicle was found after fleeing the scene.

I was merrily snapping away at glass and paint samples I was about to collect when it occurred to me that the film in my camera was taking a:bonk: :bang: huge number of shots...

:D
 
Yep, been there, done that... on more than one occasion :embarrassed:

You dissapoint me. I was expecting a right ribbing!
Remember I did it once with a film camera as well. Could not believe my luck. I found some seals hauled up on a beach & was able to get very close. Firing away, came to shot 37,38,39,40..... Then the penny dropped. The air went Janices favourite shade of blue!

Ha! I did that too...in Scotland...with a film camera.

My husband always brings that up if I ever embarass him about anything in front of friends! :D

Damn shame, we've all done it mate :)
(Except me...I've somehow managed to escape this particular 'moment' as of yet...not sure how though).

Love the way you've written it though, nice little mini story with a twist at the end.

Yep! it has happened to me once to often with groups of people at portrait sittings. Spend ages getting everyone in position and happily firing away then go to review and Doh!.... no card. I have now set my camera not to fire unless there is a card in. :shake:
 
No Card is bad, no battery is worse. I once turned up to a shoot with a bag of lenses, I had left the camera sitting at home on the desk where I had forgotten to pic it up :(.

As it happens though the event didnt happen that evening so I was ok and didnt miss anything by leaving my camera at home!

(It was a sailing event and they decided it was too rough to go out)
