Myself and Eileen live in a 3rd storey flat that has had major works by North lincs homes, We had scaffolding put up 3 months ago to install new DG and a new railing on our balcony.
The windows were put in the next day and the balcony railing, removed so for nearly 3 months we have had an unguarded balcony to a 60ft drop as the scaffold is around 18" away if you fall (there is a gap straight down).

Am I right to make a complaint or am I just going to rub someone up the wrong way:shrug:

Go for it, you pay for the safe use of the balcony and you're being subjected to an unreasonable risk. Not to mention a 3 month wait for the work to be completed.

Give them a call and tell them that I said they need to pull their fingers out or I'll turn their internet off !!! ;)

Get some photos and then tell them they have left the balcony in an unsafe condition! They have a duty for your safety as well as their own and that sounds to me like gross incompetence by whoever did the work .... Seriously get them to sort it out now! If thats how they've left the scaffolding and balcony? what else might be wrong? .... :shake:

I will get Eileen to get some pics in the morning as I am terrified of heights so dont venture out there much

Just to add to my previous post:

If they don't sort it out within a few hours of your complaint contact the HSE. They will sort it for you ....
