I have been receiving some requests from members to write a guide on how to photograph bubbles bursting. I have written it here and although I added the link on my photos thread below on one of the comments but seems that they overlook it as obviously its taken as part of just comments.

So I have decided to start this informative thread just to point members to the link where I have written the explanatory guide and information regarding bubbles that I have been photographing.

Drop me any questions here if you need to or require any extra info just in case if its not covered in the guide.

Thank you and happy bubbling

Amin

Thanks Amin.... very decent of you to share this...

Hi Rob
Thanks Amin.... very decent of you to share this...
No problem, it was my pleasure putting a description of the method I personally used. If it can help anyone achieve some satisfaction in creating images then it will be great great pleasure for me. I did go through a heck of frustrating times though, and often after hours of it would just drop it off and swear not to return to it again, only to go back to it the very first oportunity I had :). So I reckon that if people could get pass by that first stage and start achieving the first few successful shots by not having to go through those tedious unsuccessful and often monotonous moments then many will go on achieving and improving these shots.

First off can we start with a few photos then it will remind people what questions they want to ask.
I was going to put up some images but I think some are getting bored with them.
Images are on the flickr page anyway and in the original thread here

Excellent explanation there - anyone who just skims this thread should definitely take a look

edit Lots of people (me included) have never seen your work Amin - so link away :)

Thanks Richard,
Here are some example of the shots, and the rest in flickr

Any questions or issues if I can be of any help just drop them down here. Will try to answer as best as I can.

Thanks Wail, it was my pleasure.
Now let's see some bubble shots then :), I will be waiting to see them up

Thanks for sharing you're pictures and technique.
Great wee guide.
Looking forward to giving it a try later.

No problem Angus
Give it a try and let me know if you have any questions.
A word of reminder please, get a willing volunteer, helps a thousand fold. Try blowing bubbles, poking them and photographing all by yourself and you are off to a rough ride :). Not impossible but certainly a huge task. I did it and know it pretty well :)
Good luck and will await some shots

Fantastic!
However another thing to add to my long list of things to try and photograph

Definitely a valuable introduction to the subject Amin - also worth mentioning is the use of distilled water for the bubble mix. The contaminant free water provides a stronger surface tension when the bubbles form, this helps with extras including forming larger bubbles and being able to penetrate them with a straw to introduce smoke etc. (obviously this is only relevant if you are making your own bubble mix).

good work on the guide!

I only skim read it, but it looked like there's about 3 paragraphs in the first post that look like they have been repeated.

First things first. >>> and onwards

Karlos, thank you very much for bringing this to my attention.
I have corrected it now, but still a tedious read for most people I would believe :).
I think the confusion started because of the hyperlinks I was attaching and then made worse by me not going through it again after finalising the description.

Thanks again for that, appreciate it

Amin

Amin,

Thanks so much for this. It will give me a challenge once I have set everything up and the idea of having a youngster blowing the bubble is delightful. Much appreciated and stored for later.

Thanks for the guide, I'll have to give it a go.

Brilliant pictures.
