The kids make a film noir about the living dead in this one, no end of this world to contend with. E.t. Meets stand by me

 Doesn't have to be him again! but if it were, it would be a nice straightforward cryptic crossword clue ...

Tory backbenchers hold the door shut

As film titles go, I thought it was better known that that ;)

Plus there's that door bit :suspect: ...

Executive decision?

Closed door committee known as an executive committee. And executive decision is only film I can think of with executive in. Fingers crossed I'm wrong

There was "Executive Action" where Burt Lancaster [IIRC] assassinated JFK ... but it's not that, either.

I thought it was much simpler! :D

It's life jim but not as we know it so let's record it

First part relates to star trek, not as we know it also eludes to the fact it not the original - leading to director J. J. Abrams.

The record it bit, relates to film, 'super 8' is a type of film. Cloverfield is a very good shout, but not what I was looking for.

Hope that clear enough Carlos.

Suppose so :| though "record it" would really suggest video not film ;) still think The Truman show fits the clue better :D

Video replaced super 8 

Was trying to be cryptic

Edit: I mean this in jest. Above bit.

Though can see how you got Truman show, very clever. I think we need a new rule where an incorrect guess fits the original clue better can then be chosen as correct answer. Or go for an "absolute balderdash" type approach

"The 1922 Committee" ... hold the door shut

Yoss should be able to get it now!

Is that another clue? ..... Sorry, I'm lost again ;)

Nanook of the North?

Nanook of the North?

I'll say you're lost; about 1,500 miles too far North for starters!

Honest, I really thought Flash had done the difficult bit straight off when he identified the Tory backbenchers.

Now you've just got to hold the door shut with them!

Arrgghhhhhh....

now what to do, I could post the answer, but then I would invite suspicions of being told the answer, or I could just wait until you are all totally frustrated and get moaned at for not helping.....either way I can't win :shake:

"You mean there's a clue?"

"Sure there's a clue," .....

..... "That's some clue, that Clue," he observed.

"It's the best there is!"

:whistling:
