Guess the cost! Bit of fun...

So I had a good look round the inaguration photo over on Gigaspan by David Bergman, and the tower caught my eye...

Got me thinking - how much photography kit can you identify, and how much is it all worth?

I'm going to open the bidding at ~£50,000 in bodies and lenses....
 
Plenty of Canons, a few Nikons and an M16 on a grassy knoll...
 
you seen the box screwed onto the front of the tower too - has got about 20 camera stuck in it too! and then oddly about 4 CCTV camera underneath that!
 
I like the bloke who is about 10 feet from the president and asleep! and the odd join where the software has gone wrong

Still a phenomenal amount of hardware though!
 
What did this guy in the bio hazard suit know that everyone else didnt, its great looking at all these folk, some funny people.

Anyway, there must be an awful lot of money in that tower, lots of big lenses.

nah more like a fiver theres no Nikons there they are at gigs that count
 
i counted 21 bodies, mostly canons i think. and one of them has a big lens, looks too big to be a 600 as well. do canon do a 800?

i think fabs 200k is still well under in truth.

You're probably right. Don't know if you've seen the thread with the G10 panorama which it looks like this was taken from, but there's another much bigger gantry of photographers so if you add them to the equation, you're easily looking at millions!

Edit: Just reread the OP and realised that it quite obviously IS part of the panorama! :bonk:
 
just found another 10 camera in the box:eek:

so i make 31 cameras visable on the stand alone(not including the three video)

i could imagine half a mill sitting on that stand quite easily
 
I really really hate to be a party pooper but did you guys not read his copyright note at the bottom of his page? We all bang on about breach of copyright on our own images, yet you've (some of you) chopped up this guys shot and hosted it somewhere else :eek:.
 
Yep fair point i'll remove mine.
 
I'll give you £10 for the lot.

Not the case at all;)

I get a nice email from David Bergman in reply to the email I sent him about using the photo I posted:

No problem, as long as your not charging people to play, using it for
advertising, etc.

I'd say there is at least half a million quid's worth up there. I did notice it all while I was watching the inauguration. Lucky sods..
