Good to see the forum mentioned in the Guardian's Photography guide today. The guide itself isn't bad. Quite inspiring in places, Jane Bown always amazes me, I love what she does because it is so simple. A genuine genius. Martin Parr's piece was interesting too, interesting to learn that he uses what he regards as 'amateur film'. I love his concepts and ideas behind his images and trying to actually 'say' something with them rather than just merely portraying a technically sound and duller image.
The film and digital discussions were interesting too, I think I've concluded completely that digital isn't for me and to disregard it completely. For me film is so much more interesting and absolutely where my heart lays. So that's that.
Well worth picking up a copy today if you haven't already, there's another instalment to follow late November apparently. Good to see Photography getting some decent coverage as a medium again, it is long overdue.
