Trying to add an extra page to Wordpress site and although I can see it in my dashboard and in preview, its not publishing. Any ideas?![]()
Thank you Yv, I have gone into the menu page to try and add it to my custom menu but I can't see a way of doing it, it asks for a custom link for url which I don't have as it doesn't yet exist. I am sure I am missing something easy but what?add it in the menus bit, see if that helps.
ok, look at left hand side on the custom menus page, there will be several boxes, one for custom urls, one for pages [you might have to scroll down to see them], another for categories. In the pages one, click the 'all' tab, and make sure your new page shows [if it doesn't, it hasn't published, possibly its just a draft] and tick the box next to it then click 'add to menu' It should appear at the bottom of your custom menu list in r/h pane. You can drag and drop it up and down the menu to appear in whatever place you want it. Dont forget to click 'save menu' once done.
Do you have a caching plug in?
Yv, you are a star! I deleted the page and set the menu to how it was, started again and it has appeared, I think I had omitted that last sentence of your post! Thanks again
Anyone have any ideas? Don't think I can stand another sleepless night with images scanning through my brain :shake:
I think a link would help Teresa, it's most likely a css fix but it could be anything.
Assuming you used the wordpress built-in gallery option, what did you set the number of columns to?
Yes, I took the images down, as it's live I thought rather the page be empty than a hash. Thanks, I will take a look at the columns......
Update, It seems if I want to add columns I need to do this in the Twenty11 theme I am using which will change all the pages, I only want the gallery page to take the images in columns.
You set the number of columns on a per gallery basis, it should be independent of the layout of the rest of the site...
Didn't notice that was a guide for wordpress.com tbh! Don't think it matters though as the functionality seems to be identical for wordpress.org sites.
edit - just checked, the wordpress.org gallery guide is virtually identical to the .com one:
