Groupon deal....any good?

Sharon, I'd always suggest your first DSLR being a good used model. Why? Well, if you find out you hate it you'll lose next to nothing on resale.

i'm nervous about buying used tbh incase i get ripped off

Have a look at www.camerapricebuster.com - that way you can always be sure (99%) of the best price.

I'd rather pay a bit more than off some company using Groupon and based in offices above Tottenham Court Rd.

i think i will wait and keep researching and get into some stores and play with some models before commiting, thanks for all the advice i appreciate it

I was thinking of posting this - price wise very good, beating CPB by a fair way, obviously undercut by Panamoz, but this one should be a UK model (although get that double checked)

Who would rip you off?

Oh, as to the original question - yes the 650D looks like a perfect starter camera.

The guy who sold you that 20-35? :naughty:

You remember that?! Little b****r got his karma if I recall. ;)

Just thought if i am buying privately i wouldn't know what i was looking for and a conman/woman would see me coming a mile away!! Not that everyone is like this but i'd be very wary.

Having been in Ask, i can tell you they are not one of the dodgy TCR shops that you can go in and barter.

Their shop is over 3 floors and only a couple of weeks ago i was in there looking at cameras. They have a big selection of Canon and even have the big boy lenses. They had less Nikon (but i suppose that is because people buy Nikon....lol)

I would be very shocked if you had a bad experience with them.

Just thought i would give an honest opinion from somebody who has bought from their shop before.

No i haven't yet, i am normally very impulsive, but have sat on my hands until i can get in and get my hands on some cameras instore.
I am finding the help/info here useful too, ty all for your inputs

argos have it for 619-00 today if its any good to you

Don't groupon deals have a short timespan?

They do, but there are always deals out there and i need to be sure i am buying the right camera for me
