I know that you wanted to know about canon grips but have you thought about third party ones? there was a review of one which was very reasonable and appeared as good on the forum somewhere.

not bothered about make or brand more bothered about cheapest!, cash is pretty tight.

Nelly dont know if you found review buts its the yxtm grip and was about 36£ + £12 post seems like a bargain was wondering about one for myself.
