Hi.
Never owned a gray import (let's say from Panamoz) and wonder how would insurer -photoguard deal with replacement in case of lost/damage ?
Can anyone advise based on experience ?
Thanks .
I have had grey imports covered. I just made sure to cover them for the cost of a UK replacement. I've not had to claim before but I hope there wouldn't be a problem.
Hi I have my 5d III on my house insurance for replacment it was from digital rev the invoice says it's £8.00 and separate invoice giving full uk price sneaky sneaky of them but touch wood no problems
I didn't make a claim on a grey import camera but I did make a claim from Photoguard for my 5dmk2 which I purchased from London camera exchange about 2 years ago,
The repair costs were £1180 Photoguard offered me the choice of getting it repaired or a new replacement At the time my excess was £200 so as the repair cost £1180 deducting my excess of £200 they were willing to pay £980.
If I was to go for the new option (which I did) they gave me the choice of getting the new one from either WEX or HDEW, As they pay the insurance payment direct to the supplier with you making the top up they would only make a payment to a UK based supplier but they were happy to get one from HDEW which they acknowledged would be a grey import, so I would guess that they would cover a grey import.
You could always give them a ring I found them really helpful.
