Just a quick hello to all the people on TP, I'm very new to the world of slr's just ordered a canon 1000D+EF 18-55IS lens, sure to many of you this is a old basic camera in todays world but we all have to start somewhere.

Another member on here told me about this place i don't know his user name but thanks anyway mark

I know very little about digital photography but i'm looking forward to learning, currently reading the guides on here....i have alot to learn

Thanks for the welcome folk, but sad to say my world of slr ownership has got of to a bad start , i only got the camera today set it all up went to take my first picture and got this

err01
communication between camera and lens is faulty
clean the lens contacts.

No matter what i do i get the same message everytime .
To say i'm angry and a bit down about it all is an understatement.

No not yet, i got the camera from canon direct and they are closed over the weekend . I'll have to call them tomorrow.
