By day, I'm a 27 year old philosophy PhD student, and like escaping the books to get out and about taking photos. I'm very much a beginner, and hope to learn a few things here - although I'm slightly befuddled by the sheer number of forums, so will limit myself to those I'm interested in for now.

Cheers. I'm actually on the foot of the pennines, so in theory, there are great shots to be had. Also, quite a few small traditional villages nearby. Will have to go and investigate :)
