Afternoon all.
I was member on here a few years ago but life took over (voluntary redundancy, a move out of London etc etc.). Am now ensconsed in a lovely North Suffolk village with a much more relaxed lifestyle and have time to get out with the camera on a regular basis again - even off to Iceland in March next year. Can't wait :D

Welcome back to TP - what part of suffolk are you in?

Welcome back to TP from a newbie across the border in south Norfolk :)

welcome helen, good to see your name down on the meet thread as well!

Hi Tractor Boy, I'm in a sleepy village called Huntingfield, a few miles outside Halesworth... and loving it :)

Ah I know that area well. Nice area with some stunning countryside. What kind of stuff do you shoot?

It is a beautiful and tranquil place (especially after 25 years in London). I'm mainly a landscape bod myself but happy to give anything a go apart from studio stuff.. much prefer the great outdoors. How about you?

Yeah! Southwold fairly regularly when the weather looks promising. Herringfleet, that'd be this one then.. A lucky moment of brightness on a very grey and disappointing day.

Nice shot!
Hoping to get there soon as I havnt been before!
Where else would u recommend in the area?

Herringfleet is a good location but never been back. At the time was on a reccie and not expecting to get anything at all but I reckon sunrise/sunset might be good. Otherwise, depending on time of day Reydon Marshes and the harbour area at Southwold can be interesting. Benacre broad with the "iconic" tree in the sand - bit of hike to get there. Gorgeous remote sandy beach at Covehithe with some interesting trees in the sand - coastal erosion at its best. Got some amazing shots last year up the coast at Happisburgh - real Mad Max environment. However, someone told me recently that they'd started dismantling the sea defences.

Meet up at Aldeburgh in Jan - we can swap ideas. Problem with Suffolk, you drive around admiring the big skies and expansive landscapes but sometimes it can be so hard to capture in camera

I spent a few days around and about that area too last year. Your Herringfleet image brought back happy memories and looks like you had some nice light too. Hope you dont mind me posting a couple of pics from my trip to illustrate what a fab part of the world you live in, ya lucky thing!

Lovely shots Nigel, thanks for sharing. LOVE the Benacre tree... I've been there a couple of times but never managed to get any waves like that - it's a bit flat without.

And, yes this part of the world is fab
