Yes
Washington to be precise, but not many people know where that is.
It's basically in Gateshead, which is near Newcastle, which is in The North.
Forgot to post in here the other day, so I'm doing it now.
Hope to learn an awful lot from this here forum.

Welcome Joe. As an ex resident of Whitburn, I know Washington well. I reckon your very pleasing shot is of Penshaw monument.

Hope to see more of your work.

You are correct, that is Penshaw Monument.
I have just booked my place to take a twenty minute tour around the very top of the monument.
The National Trust opened it up last year, first time since the 50's I believe, and I dont think they were expecting the numbers that turned out.
We got there pretty early, and it had completely sold out. Basically there had been people there camping overnight - obviously not from the area, otherwise they would have known that to remain safe in Penshaw you need to be behind some sort of locked door!!

Whitburn is a lovely area, miles away from the likes of 'endon, just along the coast a little bit.
Where are you now then? Somewhere equally as nice, I do hope.
Wherever it is, I bet they don't have a Latimers...

I never realised you could climb to the top! Should be a superb view.

Just to put me in context, I left Whitburn in 1979! Latimers didn't exist then, although my ex brother in law lived very close to where it now is.

I am now in Lincolnshire, not far from the Humber Bridge and I love it here.

Welcome to TP.......

I'm very familiar with Sunderland, got mayats arrrl ewa the tewn, and used to work at the eye infirmary in Grangetown. I think I've spent half my life there!
Loads of lovely places to take pictures around the coastal areas, and there's now some very interesting modern architecture, what with the winter gardens and all. Ooh, I actually fancy going there one day and getting some close ups of all the botany.
Fatfield born and bred here.

Do you know, that's never occurred to me? It's 5mins slow walk and I've just never thought about it!
Now you've mentioned it, there'll be ducklings on Mowbray Park pond quite soon as well. Shots of the Gull's swooping down to pick them off....?

The gulls will have to be quick then if they are to pick them off before the local yobbos do!

hahaha your right, dorty bas-teds!
Mowbray Park is nice in the spring time, and I reckon there will be lots of opportunity for shots of Ducklings and the like.
