I have recently returned from a fantastic holiday in Southern Africa. Although my photos are acceptable, I have realised what a fantastic opportunity I had and could have captured better on camera. I've always enjoyed taking photos but have decided to take that step forward and start taking photographs rather than snaps.
I'm off to Namibia next May and I want to be better prepared with my photography skills. So as a complete and utter novice, I've bought a home study course and am searching the market for a suitable DSLR as I currently have a bridge camera (which I have only ever used in auto mode).
This looks like a great site for helping newbies like myself, so I hope you'll all be able to bear with me when I undoubtedly come on tearing my hair out.
