London Greenwich

I am off to Greenwich with work in a couple of weeks. Can anyone recommend any good photography spots? Also, is it safe wandering round at night with a camera (I know in London a lot of it is just "common sense", but I wondered if it was any better or worse than elsewhere in the city.

It's a long time since I've been in taht part of London, but I seem to remember lots to photograph. Old pie and mash shops, the observatory, the maritime museum, the naval college.
As for safety.... I used to walk anywhere in London at night, now though it's different. Now even the cenrte is a bit of risk. Last time I was there three blokes tried to mug my right by westminister, in sight of police. It didnt go well for them though, I had three mates behind me that they didnt see.

There are loads of tourists in Greenwich so wandering around with a camera you will be just one of many and will not stand out.
Having done the Maritime Museum and viewed docklands from Greenwich Park you can wander down by the river, take in the Greenwich Foot Tunnel and if you feel up to it walk along the South Side of the River. There is lots of art by some famous artists, more great views of Docklands and if you keep on walking (about three miles ) you will come to Greenwich Peninsula with the O2 Dome, there are lots of disused wharfs to take pics of and a couple of in use wharfs and an aggregate terminal. At Greenwich Peninsular there is again lots of art, a modern linear park and lots of architecture, again all perfectly safe in the day time but I might skip the more remote arts of the river walk at night. The further East you go the less touristy it gets but there is the sunk Royal Iris Mersey Ferry and Woolwich tidal barrier, disused royal docks and the Arsenal , again fine in the day light but a bit remote to be wandering after dark.
