Greengo's TP52 2016 - Week 50 & 51 Added

Colin, like the simple Arum Lilly. Suits the theme really well, nicely taken with the shade

Sign what a find, and great use of old signs, fantastic idea

Week 26 - Flora

One more of my Arum lillies from the garden and some other plants we have growing out there... I'm afraid due to the bad weather, the light has been poor so I had to make do with what was on offer... Theres a spooky twist to the second image with a statue in the background... C&C always welcome... theres a "LIKE" in it for all your comments...

Hi Colin. I think I like #3 best for the vibrancy, nice sharp details with water drops and less distracting bg. (Is it good to have "Likes"?)

Simple - As I'm catching up with my comments I originally thought this was your Flora post. Not sure on the crop to be honest, or on how shallow the DoF is, but it seems fine for the theme.
Sign(s) - Well that's an interesting find! Perhaps a little tight on the crop on each side (but for all I know there is a very good reason).
Flora - Same (type of) flower as Simple? (You can tell I'm not into my flowers). This is my fav. of the 3, but I think needs a deeper DoF as too much of it is not in sharp focus (feels a bit front focused). #3 would have been my favourite except for the crop, it feels accidental.

Like all of three Colin No 1 is lovely and No 3 the colours are lovely and vibrant but No 2 for me love the subtle colours

Just had a wee look through your images, well done on keeping up with the challenge as I know it can be difficult to keep up and keep it fresh! Nothing here to complain about, I'm not going to comment on all the past uploads but they're all very strong and very apt images imo! I hope to keep up to date with what you're uploading in the future!

simple - lovely clean simple shot
sign - unusual find for the theme.
flora - 3 lovely shots I like the first one best

As per Em, I think the second flora shot would be the pick but the statue is a deal breaker.

Third for me with the bright colours :)

Awwww I keep having to play catch up this year but I'm determined to see it out... Sorry for being late AGAIN...

Week 27 - Active-Activity
I tried my hand at street photography recently and saw these two ladies looking to make a purchase in a store... Perhaps a shoe horn but the activity is the girl showing the two ladies what they are interested in... I thought it worked better in B&W...
Activity.jpg

Week 28 - Life
Again with the street photography I thought this would fit the theme as Life in everyday surroundings... The girl with the headphones is oblivious to life outside her bubble and whats happening around her...
Life 1.jpg

Week 29 - Hidden
I was away for my birthday this week and took a walk with my camera... This is a celtic cross (not the football team but an Irish celtic cross)... the sun was HIDDEN behind it so I grabbed my shot...

Week 30 - Lonely
So I'm up to date now and have a week to gather my thoughts... a bit like this LONELY boy engrossed in his book about Minecraft in a local bookstore...
Lonely.jpg

C&C always welcome and thanks to everyone who comments on my pictures... Its always appreciated...

Hi Colin,
Activity - Spending money, and activity for women ;) I agree it does work in b&w.
Life - I see where you're going. I think I would have cropped off the top of the shot as it doesn't really add anything.
Hidden - Great starburst there. (y) Nothing you could do with the blown highlights on the horizon going for that shot.
Lonely - The lone submission for Lone (ly) so far this week :) The verticals need a bit of work, but well done on so much street in your catch up.

Hi Colin. Well done with the catch up - keep going.
Active: Definitely fits the theme and looks good in b&w. Maybe try to adjust the perspective to correct the tilting verticals on the rhs.
Life: Living in a bubble is almost the norm for the youngsters of today ... a bit of escapism I suppose. Nicely thought through to encompass all the activity around her.
Hidden: Lovely starburst - you did well to retain the detail in the darker side of the cross
Lonely: Well spotted and nicely composed.

Hi Colin, my thoughts for what they are worth !

Activity - Very reminiscent of my wife !
Life - I love this type of photography, always intrigue's me how people react on a daily basis
Hidden - I agree with the others the starburst is great !
Lone - Nice to see a real book being read ! The B&W works for me, tad to do on the vertical alignment ?

Week 31 - FAUNA

bet you all thought this is similar to flora but how can I get another pic of flowers so as not to look like flora again... well I thought the same thing haha...

I visited a lovely waterfall and done a long exposure to get that misty flowing water look around all the "FAUNA" , see what I did there, at the bottom of it... *cough* shoehorn *cough*
Anyway this is my submission this week for the 52...

Hi Colin. Yes, I like the misty water flowing water - nicely taken and a lovely scene. Struggled to find fauna .... or is that a figure I see behind tree ?

Lovely image Colin as Emma says that's a shoehorn and half. Lovely colours and details

And another one joins the shoe horn fold, I'm getting there :D

I always kind of assumed fauna was ferns and stuff, don't know why. This 52 lark is just so educational.

Anyway, nice scene you've caught there Colin ... with that milky water. (y)

And I like your girl with headphones ... and the way that wall flows around.

Does the fauna of trees and different grasses not count or have I got FAUNA all wrong then :rolleyes:o_O
Fauna is all of the animal life of any particular region or time. The corresponding term for plants is flora.
Flora, fauna and other forms of life such as fungi are collectively referred to as biota.

But who cares, you haven't seen this weeks theme yet :D

Great long exposure shot of the waterfall. But no fauna...

Catch up by two weeks again... aint shift work a b****r...

Week 32 - STATIC - you cant get any more static than a lighthouse... well that was my thinking from the word so here is a shot of a lighthouse lol... the framing may not suit everyones taste but I was playing about in PS to get the touch...

Week 33 - GAME
I was going to try my hand at a football match but didnt like the thought of parents or managers challenging me about taking photos etc so I dug out a pic of a monopoly board to cover my theme this week...
game.jpg

Both very apt submissions Colin, I quite like the lighthouse framing too :)

Yes both good Colin but my preference is for the lighthouse - colours are fabulous ... .with the lamps out of action during daylight, I would have said they were definitely static. (Not entirely convinced about the framing).

Both very nice Colin,

Love the pov of the light house great take on the theme.

Love your image for Game lovely colours and great use of DoF

I love the lighthouse picture, brilliant colours and I like the framing.

Not sure where you set your focus to on the Monopoly board, the car and the dice do look ever so slightly out of focus. But otherwise it's a great photo, the vignette and the muted colours work very well.

Oooo nice game image, not so keen on the lighthouse, though I like the actual house and sky, I keep getting blocked by the plants... as for the monopoly, great set up, nice DoF, good all round bright well composed shot for me
