no flash matt,as it is dangerous to the riders:cool:

lots of action there

so you're shooting with a canon.. in automatic mode
I think flash 16 means on by the way!?

anyway, looking at the detail, and please fill me in someone.

lightsource unknown, flash did not fire, but compulsory flash mode!?!?

so maybe the camera didn't fire the flash but thought that it should.??
so you shoot in raw or jpeg??

I would recommend Av mode, manual white balance (sunny for this one) RAW if possible
no flash of course.

also what picture settings are you using?? lots of contrast etc? I know I can over cook or over saturate on my Canon with some picture modes if I want to make it look like it came from a Nikon :)

thankyou for your reply's

If I'm seeing this correctly the out of focus areas are the ones exhibiting a green fringe. The Bikers helemet which is also white doesn't seem to have the same problem. I wondering if this has a link to sharpening. Maybe a bit too much may be causing this effect.

Try looking at the un processed photo and see if shows the same effect. I don' know the Microsoft software, but could it be simply adding some processing without you knowing it.

If it's still a problem, download a trial version of Elements 7 and see if the problem persisits
