Hi All
I am currently doing my Graded Unit at college and i need some help!
I want to use a Green Screen for one of my Portrait shoots (as i know it gives a cleaner look once edited). The world of Green Screen it entirely new to me!
So I have two questions:

Can I use any sort of green sheet?
&
When editing (I use CS5), how do i remove the green and replace it with my chosen back ground?
Please help!:(
Thanks

I use green screen regularly as an event photographer and we typically use programs like Green Screen Wizard or FX Home, have a look at http://www.greenscreenwizard.com/ for the green colour - most programs allow use of blue as well.

Issue with Photoshop is the use around hair etc. & feathering of selection.

Lighting can be an issue if subject is too close to the background as you get reflected green in the hair and on the side of the subjects.

Green and blue screens are both used, the general trend is towards green these days as people wear less green than blue! (meaning you don't key out someones blue jeans)

Try to back light your subject as that will give you a more defined outline. Use the smoothest sheet you can (as in uncreased not silky) you want as flat a colour as possible for the background to make it easier to remove. You could even light the screen to help with this.

In Photoshop you will need to mask out the background. Create a new mask for the layer then use colour range to get most of the background, tidy up best you can with mask edge then paint out the rest using black and white brushes. This article goes into more detail

Thanks all for the info & help, I will definitely go and check out the links.
Thanks
