After 38 weeks of basically looking forward to it, the missus has popped out our first-born :)

Sat down for a nice session on COD5 last night (she was at work) but got the call about broken waters at 12.30am and ended up doing a 15-hour labour session at Warwick general.

'Little' Charlie (my missus has a neat little bump) actually turned out to be a 8lb 10oz bifter who is (in my eyes) the best looking little lad I've ever set my eyes on.

Photos to follow tomorrow –*I've been up since 6am on Friday and am totally pooped - but big respect goes out to my missus (in fact all women) who go through this tremendous ordeal of giving birth.

Well chuffed :D

Congratulations. :)

Yay and woo and everything, Loving the name Charlie and you must be so chuffed to be a daddy :)

Congratulations to you and big powerful feminine hugs to your missis, who in my eyes, is a true hero for pushing a child into the world :)

goodluck with the sleep dep :) xx

Congratulations Daddy and well done to your wife.Little Charlie must have decided to make his entrance soon after we were saying on here that it could be a few more weeks.I hope you got the car seat sorted. Good job he came before he got any bigger. It must have been hard work for your wife pushing him out as he was.It will all be worth it.

I hope that parenthood gives you both as much joy as it has done for me.

Pip Pip & Jolly Good Show!

Congratulations to both of you!
It'll turn your life upside down, but you won't regret it at all.

cheers

congratulations to you and your wife and enjoy every second with your son :clap::clap:

Welcome to the world Charlie!

Congrats to all three of you - and HUGE respect to your OH

Congratulations, when my son was born in 97 I had a Minolta 700si, I took it into the theater as my wife was having a c section , one of the doctors who was observing asked if I wanted some pictures of the birth and being a bit in awe of surgeons and the like I just handed the camera over, he was snapping away like a goodun.

when I got the film back from boots it was like a scene from Alien, blood everywhere, god knows what they thought when they were developing them :D

Lock up your cheque book, the expensive part of your life starts here :D

Excellent news. Have fun while you can!!!!!

Congrats :)

Cheers everyone. Woke up tis morning after a good catch up on the ZZZs and it feels totally natural to be thinking about a baby in the house. Just going back to hospital now to see them both (they were in over night) and to also drop off a card and some choccies for the wonderful midwives who helped us.

no more new camera equipment for the next 5 yrs now....!! :D:
The 85mm f/1.8 and the D300 I wanted are now so impossible I daren't think about them. To rub it in, a mate ordered a D300s, 17-55, 70-300, 50mm and SB900 yesterday; he rang me to say his 'new arrivals' were on their way. :D

Good job he came before he got any bigger. It must have been hard work for your wife pushing him out as he was

They had to use that suction cup thing to yank him out. Oooooh, it wasn't pleasant to look at. But, it got him out and saved Mrs Spesh several more hours of pushing - bless her, she was absolutely pooped. Gonna pamper here to bits when she gets home.

I'm grinning inanely as I write this by the way. It's great :D

Congratulations to all three of you mate

You'll soon learn to sleep standing up

congratulations to you both, he was a little whopper!.. love the name charlie

I think you'll be grinning for a good while :)

Well here he is - he's sleeping for England at the moment; every other baby on the ward is crying its lungs out, he's just quietly catching some ZZs :) Home tomorrow, can't wait

Awwww congratulations to you both, your son is adorable.

I can sort you out the loan of a lens for a month.
Cheers for the offer but aside from the fact I'd probably want to keep it, I'm gonna pop into work tomorrow and play on the the fact I'm a new dad and hope the boss will buy me one :D;)...

....oh, and that D300 I wanted :D
