Those are the ideal positions that i want to get, but to do it i'm gona have to arrive earlyish i think... Should be a nice test of the AI Servo focus on my 350d too, not really had much of a chance to use it before.

If anybody has any advice, please feel free to give me some :p

Also if anyone is in the manchester area and wants to come along for the shoot, feel free to post in here and i'll sort something out with you :)

Marcel, swim you ******* then get down :p

LOL If I get home from swimming at a reasonable time, I'll pop down.
Not sure what time I'll be back though.

Looking at your three points, the lower one, near the Mancunian Way, is actually near a car dealership, opposite Castle Quay (where Key 103 and Magic 1152 is). Running from left to right on the map, just above the Mancunian way, and the other road the the run comes down from, IIRC there's a bridge there, although it could be a railway bridge. Might be a good vantage point ;)

Dont get in the runners way I did a few marathons years ago one guy got in the way of some runners and got put on his a**s camera went one way he went other

Went!

Got very wet to say the least. Was working for Marathon-Photos.com.

Sat at the end and took thousands of photos for the above, hopefully I got most in frame. Hardest marathon yet, 25000 runners over 10K meant that from 10 minutes or so (wheelchair atheletes) to the end at 3hrs, was a constant stream of runners.

Now my 70-200 will be taken for cleaning, noticed something inside the lens so there's another £120 bill or so :(

Good day though,
Carl.

Carl, were you actually in the press stand bit at the end? In the raised platforms.

And by any chance were you using a 24-70 L?

No, I was just at the cross roads by the finish line.

If you noticed anyone, I had a bright yellow/black waterproof jacket on with the words "Osprey" on the back in red.

I actually made myself out on the news clip, on the right hand side knelt down :)

I was using a 70-200 with my Canon 20D, my 1D would res down enough to put small enough images onto the card!
Carl.
