Just back from seeing this movie in 3D. Wow what a ride!
If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it.

Is that the one with Sandra B's hair obeying the law of gravity while in free fall?

Sure is Nod. But let's remember, it's a film not a documentary! Don't let trivia like that ruin it for you![]()
i worked on 2001 a space odyssey back in the 60s on special effects ,its amazing what can be done on a unlimited budget .we used to have regular lectures on realistic scenario's from guys from nasa and the smithsonian institute .
unfortunately not how it was done ,i don't think velcro was even invented back then ,it was a huge centrifuge tank ,like a wall of death motorbike tank if my memory serves me rightly the camera was shooting from above as she walked round ..i did most of the paintwork on the orion space ship ,the film took up over half of mgm elstree studio lotsI saw that film aged around 8 (taken up to London by my father) sometime in the late 60s - it's a favourite for the effects among other things. The stewardess that walks 'up' the cabin wall on velcro shoes was fantastic, even though it's obvious.
