DOES ANYONE USE A GRAPHICS TABLET FOR EDITING ON PHOTOSHOP?

if so would you reCommend one?

I use an A6 Wacom Bamboo, they were £39 from Aldi, dont know if they have any left but they're a great bit of kit, once you get used to them ... I couldnt go back to a mouse now

They're awesome. One thing, don't be drawn in by large sizes. Smaller is often better with graphics tablets.

I use a Wacom Intuos 4 Small. It's brilliant, definitely recommend it.

Theres quite a few threads on here regarding graphics tablets so do a quick search as well and you'll come across some more information.

I also have one of the Wacom from Aldi and it is a great bit of kit.

Editing pictures is a breeze...!

We use wacom's at work, so I have used an A5 size wacom, an A4 and an old A3 tablet. I much prefer to use the older A3 when working with my 24" monitor as I find I get a much better resolution to hand movement for finer details.

Beware of the older tablets if you spot them on Ebay though. Wacom stopped making the older pens so there is a worldwide shortage and the new pens don't work on the old tablets.

Another vote for the Wacom from Aldi, good value.

Which Wacom tablet did Aldi sell, please? It was probably one of their Bamboo models ... was it this one?

The MTE-450A, that's all it says. No model name

I just bought a Trust A6 one from Tesco's for £24.99, it was for PC only but I downloaded the Mac driver and everything works perfectly.

Once you've adjusted the settings from the default it's quite good and I'm chuffed to bits with it for the money.

Another vote for the Wacom Bamboo, even at A6 size it works very well :)

Wacom Bamboo A6 here too.. one of the best things I have bought.

I also use a Wacom tablet,

Bamboo Fun Medium great piece of kit :)

I use a Intuos 4 medium and I love it to bits, you can assign key presses to buttons and the LEDS tell you what that button does.

I've just got my Bamboo Fun Medium working properly with Linux and I can say, takes a little getting used to (not used one for about 10 years) but I may chuck my mouse in the bin.

I have a Wacom I bought years ago and couldnt get on with it.

I kept finding I had to put the pen down to zoom in using he keyboard and making the pensize bigger, pressing F7 for bringing up layer palette etc etc.
OR can the pen be used as a mouse and do all these things for you?

yup, does everything the mouse does.. you might need to enable flicks for scrolling etc.

Thanks, Neil. I will get it out and have another go then. (the graphics tablet!! ;) )

I've got a Bamboo pen & touch, great bit of kit but I've only used it a couple of times, my Macbook Pro touch pad seems to be just as easy to use to be honest.

I use a medium Intuos4. Love it.

I keep meaning to get one of these but every time i look i just get confused by all the different options.
I mean, just in the wacom range you have the bamboo fun small and the bamboo pen & touch in the same price bracket. I'll be beggered if i can tell the differences between the two other than cosmetics.

The bamboo is now an old model i think.

The new ones are the touch range where you can use iPhone like gestures as well as the pen to zoom in and scroll...!

I bought an A5 model and actually find it too big sometimes. Maybe that's just me being awkward again, though.

I used a Grapphire A6 for a couple of years and then bought the Bamboo Fun A5 (thinking bigger is better) - My next tablet will proably be A6 again :)

The Bamboo Fun is a cracking bit of gear and a tablet will make editing so much easier.

Try writing your name with your finger! Almost impossible. THe touch tablet will be similar to your toch pad but when usingb the pen, a whole new accuracy is found.

Wacom Bamboo Pean and Touch - though I am not allowed it until xmas !

Got me an old Wacom Graphire 3 from eBay for a tenner! Total bargain. Only bit of expenditure was the time taken to download the new software over my crap internet connection, so it'd work with Leopard. I've had to start hiding it cause it very nearly completely replaced my Logitech MX Revolution mouse haha.

They still had some of the Bamboo's at Aldi near me on Sunday, so I bought one. £39 quid - well worth the money!

anybody know any shops that have these on display that you can try?

PC World - Not sure you can try though? Some have trouble but to me it was so natural using a pen rather than a mouse! i don't use a mouse at home at all now.

I popped into pc world today to take a look at what the differences were between the bamboo and bamboo fun was.

Other than the styling they appear to be identical, but the fun comes with a downloadable copy of elements.

Ebuyer owe me credit so i am just looking at getting one from there now, my local aldi had naff all.
