Hope this isn't a silly question!!
Can you get a graphics tablet where the photograph actually appears on the screen of the tablet? So you can just take the tablet away and work on the photograph, then transfer back to the laptop/desktop?
Thank you
No, not a silly question. That's what forums is there for, for anyone to ask questions, no matter how silly they sounds, and seek answers.
But point of note...
While the terms are often used loosely and interchangeably, generally the proper way is...
Graphics Tablet = A tablet that does not show anything, they're just like tea trays, you draw on them, but you have to look up at the monitor. Those are either plugged into the (laptop or desktop) computer by either cable or wireless,
Graphics Display (AKA as
Pen Display or
Drawing Tablet) = A tablet with a built-in screen, you can look down on the screen as you draw,. But they're nothing more than just like a monitor you put down on the desk, and need to plug into a computer to work with. (It is possible with some high end models, to have some kind of a device plugged into it, to turn it into a scaled down computer, so you could work on it away from main computer, then transfer the file to main computer.)
Pen Computer = Similar to Graphics Display / Pen Display, but where the former is simply nothing more than just a screen to draw on, and you still need a computer, the latter (as the name
Pen "Computer" implies) does have an actual computer built-in. You don't need to plug this into a laptop or a desktop, because this is in itself a computer.
But you need to be aware that Pen Displays don't work the way you hoped for, like take the tablet with you out somewhere, draw on digital artwork, come back home and transfer to main computer.
For what you have in mind, a Pen Computer is needed.
However Pen Computers costs far a lot of money, runs into thousand
s of pounds, because they work like computers, thus have other stuff in them, like motherboard, CPU, RAM, memory, etc. Pen Display is cheaper than Pen Computers, but still costs
a thousand as they have LCD screen. The usual Graphic Tablet is much more cheaper, simply costs hundreds.
Hope the information on the difference helps you?
