Graphics Card suggestions

Hi all

At the moment, I have two monitors connected to a 10 year old graphics card (albeit in a new machine).

I want to add a third monitor and this is the time for a new card I think. I only ever use it for office work / lightroom / browsing and so on (no video encoding, gaming etc.).

Can anyone suggest a card that has three outlets and will fit into this motherboard along with a 500w PSU?

Thanks, Kevin

Two thoughts.
The motherboard has built in graphics (DVI and HDMI) but none too sure whether it is possible to run both on-board & Graphics Card simultaneously???

The alt is something like the card I got in early 2019 https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-mini#spec
This has 3 ports

DisplayPort 1.4
HDMI 2.0b
DL-DVI

So theoretically I could run 3 screens..............but note that not all ports will support the same maximum screen resolutions ;)

PS FWIW my current monitor is attached to the DVI and I would love to have two monitors but may well settle for one larger one when I can (a) justify the cost and (b) that whether e.g. a 27inch screen will fit in the workspace I have

Thanks for that - the motherboard does not allow for video outlet when it has the Ryzen processor attached (so said Novatech at least when I bought the machine).

So I'm looking for a card that will run the three monitors and preferably at a reasonable cost.

Thanks Duncan, that's a new one to me - I'll read up a little more. The card I wanted to buy has three outputs but only two can be used at one time.

I'm using a USB to HDMI converter on my work laptop to a monitor at the moment and it's fine.

Some of the low-mid end cards have upwards of 3 outputs, for example the ASUS rx580 (£150) has 5 - 2x HDMI, 2x DP, 1x DVI but not sure how many can be used simultaneously

The motherboard isn't the issue as it's standard but the case very much may be. You haven't told us what the current card is so we don't know if the case will take a dual-slot GPU or not. If in doubt, a pic of the back of the case will do.
Assuming it will take a dual-slot card then a GTX 1650 is a good choice. It a generation later than the one Box Brownie suggested and is about 60% more powerful for the same power consumption. It would help to know what connection options your existing monitors have to be able to specify a specific model.

The motherboard is mATX and looking at a picture of it, it possible that (subject to PCI slots in use of the 2 full length & 1 very short one) it could only take one double width card.

As @Snapsh0t says a picture of the pc back panel could help as well as perhaps to supplement that a picture of the inside of the pc? Because not all dualwidth cards show external evidence of using a double width internal space ;)

PS of the PCI slots themselves Gigabyte say this:-
  1. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)(Note)
    * For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.
(The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)
  2. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)
  3. 1 x PCI Express x1 slot
(The PCIEX4 and PCI Express x1 slots conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)

Yes, you're right. I looked too quickly and thought it was mITX. So the case won't be an issue and almost any card will fit subject to power requirements.
