Ok.... last week my desktop graphics card stopped working ,asked you guys on here for some advice which was great . So... purchased new GFXs card during installation desktop prompted for me to uninstall the old card ,which i did, everything went as it should ,but... now the comps telling me that its had to stop the new card because it wasn't working properly ,when i go into device manager i can still see both card there ,when i click on the new fitted card (NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS )thats the one it's shut down, what i can't get my head aroundis how come it's still showing the old (NVIDIA Geforce 9200) when the comp uninstalled it ,would there be a confliction problem going on here ,or is the new card not compatible ....... help!!!!! :)

in device manager right click the old card and "uninstall", then right click at the top of the tree and do "scan for hardware changes" it should pickup the new card.

if not do the uninstall bit again then download new sets of drivers from the nvidia website and re-run the install.

Right ... when i right click the unwanted card they both disappear ,and when i reboot their both back again and thats doing a scan also .I must be doing summit wrong or have done summit wrong in the installation part of the process

Try uninstalling all Nvidia graphics drivers via the control panel, remove the card from device manager and reboot. Might work.

Also if you boot in safe mode it lists all the devices. You can then click on the errant graphics card and remove it.

Ok....it's me again!!!!! ,for some reason along wi the problems with GFX card , i can't connect to the internet on my desktop because there seems to be a problem with my Ethernet Controller ,it says it's not configured properly with a (code 1) beside it ,also says there's no driver selected and it's telling me to reinstall drivers for this device .My problem apart from this not working ,there's no name or discription for me to know where to download drivers or what type .Comp's a Acer Aspire X3200 .

If i can locate drivers ,would i be able to download (i'm on OHs lappy)onto a disc and transfer them to my desktop .Hopefully this'll be the end of it :D

Sometimes if you go into safe mode and remove every driver it can sort itself out! Have you tried deleting the graphics card drivers in safe mode?

Ang on a mo, have you removed an Nvidia all in one driver by mistake. My mainbord uses an Nvidia driver for a number of things including the network.

thats what it sounds like but you will still have to reinstall the mobo drivers...have you got the mobo,s disc?
