i am trying to add something to one of my pictures from a tutorial i have found on the net, but as usual it refers to using the gradient tool but neglects to tell you where it is, and as i need to load some gradients, i need it. It is shown on the site as a square with gradient in, but i cant find it anywhere, i am using CS2, any help??:confused- :dizzy:
TIA
if you click on the little square box if lets you choose where start and finish of the gradient is using the foreground colour and the type of gradient shown in the top bar. In CS it is just below the brush and History brush.
For darkening a sky pick an adjustment layer "the circle half black" at the bottom of the layer palate. Choose "gradient" as type. In the gradient fill select inverse and click on the box marked gradient. Up comes the gradient editor. Adjust the sliders to get the position of the gradient on the image. Say sky line - Hit Ok and then choose "overlay" in the layer choice. You then have more control in the opacity slider for the layer. With black as the foreground colour works as a neutral denstiy filter. Have fun! I think the gradient editor lets you add gradients.
It is fun trying to do it in Photoshop to see what I do without thinking and switching back to this! Start typing and nothing happens - then realise I havent clicked back on the Forum!
Matey, it's behind the fill tool i.e. the tipped over paint pot. If you have the paint pot shown on your toolbar, you have click and hold it until a little menu appears and there should be the gradient tool.
If you don't know about that feature just think how many tools you're gonna find now....
thanks fangman for the knowhow there, i didn't know that either.
@sammy, cheers mate, i know about lots of the tools behind other icons, but didn't know that was there, now got to reload some gradients and try and find an arc too.
cheers
