GoT - Season 4 (Contains spoilers)

No, just an episode about a separate storyline. Just because it's not a storyline you're interested in, doesn't make it a filler. ;)

A seperte storyline that is a filler :)

Seriously. When has one storyline dominated a whole episode this season? No calisi, no aria, no reek, no stanis, no Tyrian. Nothing. That's why I think it's a filler. There hasn't been a single episode this season (or any season? Can't think of one) purely dedicated to a single storyline.

I am interested in it, but I want to see all the storylines

Filler

Well I enjoyed it so :p

Just caught up on this week's episode . . . have to admit that I was a little bit disappointed too.
I'm interested in where that particular storyline is going, but after about 5 minutes I start to get bored with big battle scenes.

Oh well, I've just bought the box set of the books so back to them while I wait for next week's installment :D

That post could have done with a spoiler alert given that this is a thread about season 4.

Mod Edit : Spoiler removed

Well done

you mean like the one on the thread title that says 'contains spoilers'

Still no need to post it other than you like to let everyone know you've read the books

Yeah spoilers about season 4. We should be able to come in here and discuss season 4 without fear of learning about seasons that haven't been made yet, the spoiler alert is for revealing facts about the episodes we just watched not ones that haven't aired.

Or why not just tell us how season 5 ends spoil it for everyone, go you!

Enjoyed tonight's finale... Apart from knowing Jon snow wasn't going to be killed in the camp thanks to the uncalled for spoiler last week. (No apology offered for that I noticed)

One thing I wasn't clear on .... Was shae always with Tywyn and therefore a plant for Tyrian or was she just turned recently?

Hopefully someone can explain that part but if doing so reveals anything from season 5+ then please leave me in the dark

answered my own question with a little research. Seems Shae was intercepted during her escape and wasn't a plant.

No Season 5 spoilers please....
This thread is for those who are up to Season 4 :)

I watched 410 yesterday, really really enjoyed it. It wrapped up the season nicely for me.

Yay for Tyrion
Yay for Tywin
Yay for Brienne
Yay for Arya
Yay for Varys
Boo for the Hound though, I liked his accent and his lines.

Just ticked all the boxes IMO.
And I've watched the last 5 minutes a few times now. That music right up to the end of the credits just finishes it nicely.

Can't wait for Season 5 now.

Is it sad that I have got the whole full length theme tune in my Deezer playlist hahahaha

That was the line of the season for me (sorry, had to star it out though)

But the Hound was left alive, you never know he could mend (his pride of being whipped by a girl too :)). Hope he does, he's had some of the best lines.

Very happy when Joffrey bought it, Jack Gleeson played him well though as it seems all the viewers hated him with a passion

P.s I have not read the books etc, in fact the wife and I only got into this about 6 weeks ago and managed to watch the lot on Sky box set and catch up with 2 weeks to go on s4!

Not at all........ I have an abridged version as my iPhone ringtone... :$

Yes I know. That's why it was a filler episode

George R.R. Martin wrote that episode. GRR Martin doesn't do 'filler'.

It was action packed and deserved an episode to itself, much in the way that the Battle of Blackwater had its own episode back in Season 2.

Further to the "is the Hound dead?" debate, not even in the books has it been confirmed. I am strongly of the opinion that though 'The Hound' may be dead, Sandor Clegane may be alive and well somewhere in Westeros - perhaps under a different name and profession!

With a femoral artery wound (as it appeared to be) like that he should be which is a shame :(
But....never one to shy away from a surprise is GoT eh? :-)
I just wish they didn't make us wait so damn long for each series!

I'm using these next ten months to read the books! :D

The story is now past the part I read to, so I'm not going to bother.
Reading them now would completely ruin the show for me :-)

I'm not so sure.
I'm currently about 1/2 way through book 2 (Arya has just asked Jaqen to kill her first name off the list). I'm really enjoying the refresher.
I know the stories diverge somewhat from book 3 onwards, but I'm determined to see them through....
But roll on April :)

i hope thats not a spoiler for the other seasons - do you mean in the book up to season 4 it wasn't confirmed?

See I'd be happy to re-cap read to the point where this season ended....but for the rest, though it pains me, I'll wait for the new series because I'm enjoying the surprises from week to week. I'll just have to deploy my Jedi patience

Ditto. I ordered the box set but so far I've only just finished book 1.
Like Ruth said, I won't read beyond where season 4 finished because it'll spoil things for me so I'll just have to pace myself and try to make them last until season 5 starts up :(

There isn't a "book up to season 4", Season 4 used elements from three of the books. None of the TV narrative is particularly staying on track as per the books.
